Double Glazing Repair
A double glazed unit (DGU) is said to have ‘blown’ or 'failed' when you can see either condensation or markings INSIDE the sealed unit. Like in this image on the far left. When you see this, it means that your double glazed unit has now come to the end of its natural life, which can be anything from 5 to 10 years, and in some cases even longer.
If the unit was originally fitted using standard glass, following any replacement, it might be re-glazed using toughened glass. That's in keeping with Building Regulations. Have a look at this
Critical Areas information which explains it in more detail. If just one has 'failed', don’t worry. You won’t have to change all your glazing, to toughened glass.
All our new DGU's carry a 10 year guarantee and we are one of the few glazing businesses that allow this guarantee to be passed to any new property owners. Ask our staff for further information when you speak with us. So we can give you some idea of the replacement cost, if you can, measure left to right and top to bottom of the glass that you can see before it disappears in the frame and send that over to us using the contact us page. We will email you back a very competitive price for the work.
If you are not able to do that please let us know, and we will send someone round to measure up and give you the price.
On larger projects we offer finance, but on smaller ones you can pay for the work in either cash, via PP, bank transfer or by CC.
We offer free quotes, there’s no VAT to pay and remember, all our replacement DGU’s carry a 10-year guarantee. Against failure that is. If someone puts a brick through it, then they wouldn't be covered by our guarantee.
